Treasurer - Phil Sivin
Phil Sivin joined The Community Synagogue in 2006 and has been an active member since 2003, when he moved to Port Washington. Phil’s three daughters have also been active in TCS, attending the ECC and religious school, participating in leadership roles in POWTY and reading from the Torah on High Holiday Services. Two of Phil’s daughters became a bat mitzvah at TCS and his youngest will become a bat mitzvah in 2020; his oldest was confirmed in 2019. Phil joined the Board of Trustees in July 2017 and served as Treasurer since July 2019.
Professionally, Phil is Managing Director and Chief Counsel - Credit At Angelo, Gordon & Co., a large investment management company. Prior to joining AG, Phil held a variety of senior positions at the MD Sass Group of companies. Phil has extensive experience in all aspects of investment management companies including legal, finance, operations, seeding, and M+A. Phil served on the board of various investment companies as well as the National Tax Lien Association and is a Certified Tax Lien Professional.
Prior to that Phil practiced law at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York. Phil received a BS from Cornell University, a JD from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia University. Phil also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
