Join Jewish Educator, Uri Feinberg for an 8 week discussion about The History of the State of Israel-the early days of Zionism through 2025. This informative class will allow you the opportunity to strengthen what you already know about Israel, add information that wasn’t previously there, and regardless of our opinions about Israel, allow us to ask ourselves (and maybe even answer) much more securely, how does all this relate to us and why do we care?

From Selma to Sinai: A Jewish Journey for Justice
Thursday Nov. 13 - Sunday Nov. 16
Join us for an immersive civil rights journey through Montgomery, Birmingham, and Selma—key sites of the American Civil Rights Movement—explored through the lens of Jewish values and history. Through site visits and conversations with local leaders, we will learn about the struggles of African Americans to gain equality in the 1950s & 60s as well as discover how Jews were involved in the Civil Rights struggle. Visits include, among other sites, the Equal Justice Initiative Legacy Museum, the Rosa Parks Museum, the Martin Luther King Center, walking across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, the 16th Street Baptist Church and Sunday worship at the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Grown Up & Me - Songs for Seeds
Wednesday's, Sept. 10 - Dec 17
9:30, 10:30 OR 11:30 am
Join Songs for Seeds, The Community Synagogue's NEWEST Grown Up & Me Class. Here, you and your child will learn all while jamming out to the best that children's music has to offer. This class will provide play time and movement, with the support of caregivers in the class, aid in the development of gross and fine motor skills.

Parenting Inclusively
Next Meeting: Friday, October 3 at 11:30 am
Parents of children in cribs to those in college, are invited to join the Inclusive Parenting small group! This group meets monthly for group conversation and discussion of relevant topics. The small group is led by Robyn Semilof, a parent of three, one of whom is autistic, and Lori Zlotoff, a licensed clinical social worker and parent to two teenage daughters. Lori has been a member of the synagogue for 10 years.

ECC Challah Program
Every Shabbat!
This delicious year-long program saves you time and money by bringing challah to your home every week. For ECC families, the first challah of the 2025-2026 school year will be delivered in time for Shabbat on Friday, September 19th, and will be sent home with your ECC child at the end of the school day. For TCS members, your challah will be available for pick up in the Main Office on Friday mornings.
Mah Jongg and Canasta Club
Mondays at 12:30 – 2:30 pm in the MPR
No session Nov 20. Co-sponsored by the Sisterhoods of The Community Synagogue & Temple Beth Israel. The club is open for general play for players of all levels. Come with your own foursome or come alone and we will match you with a group!

Do you Farshtay A Bisl Yiddish? If the answer is yes, do we have a group for you! Our group reads Yiddish Literature transliterated into English. Therefore, no experience reading it’s original Hebraic letters required.
