Friedland-Trustee

JD Friedland has been a member of The Community Synagogue for over 15 years and rejoined the Board as Trustee in July 2017, having previously served as a Trustee from 2008-2012.  JD also serves as President of the Brotherhood of Community Synagogue.  JD and his wife Deborah moved to Port Washington in 2000, and their three children Joshua, Michael and Samantha attended the ECC. Joshua and Michael had their b'nai mitzvot at The Community Synagogue and have participated as leaders in the synagogue's POWTY program. Michael was elected co-President of POWTY for the 2019-2020 year. Samantha will become a Bat Mitzvah in 2021.

JD is a Managing Director at Wombat Capital, and has been an investment banker servicing investors and companies focused on the medical device industry for over 20 years.  JD has previously held senior positions at Rothschild, Lazard Fréres and Wasserstein Perella, and also served as Vice President of Corporate Business Development for Henry Schein.

He serves as a senior operating advisor to Pulse Equity Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm.  

JD received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
